Surfs up
Surfing reminds me of being 13, hideously uncool and overeager. I see myself vividly: wet clumps of hair matting my eyes, snot dribbling out of my nose, and if I'm lucky, a little pot belly exposed from my lopsided tankini. Surfing was cool and I would, on the unfortunate occasion we were some place surfing was possible, drag myself out there.
