... too cold where every body part hurt so we called it quits early. We found out that Heavenly closed early too because of the conditions. Our plan was to take Jalen to see fireworks at Heavenly village on NYE but we cut the trip short and left NYE because of the horrible weather. It is way to cold, highs of 18. Jalen played a few minutes in the snow but not long because his face turned red. He really did enjoy the snow and kicking it and throwing it. He will have a blast in ...

... pressed on today through the most beautiful terrain I have ever seen. I took more pictures today than any other day of the trip. We started making up miles that we owed from previous trail closures. Our plan is to hike the entire John Muir Trail (jmt), which we started today. The jmt follows the pct for the majority of its length but the beginning and end do not. Today we hiked 3 miles back into the jmt to the base of Mt. Whitney which is considered the start of the jmt. The plan is to ...

... most beautiful places I have ever seen. I swam in Lake Tahoe and spent a few hours on the beach before heading back for a swim in the hotel pool. we tested out our underwater camera.
Dinner at the hard rock cafe was delicious, they had they best chocolate mousse.
Definitely worth another visit in the future.
Before we started our drive down to Yosemite, we stopped at Emerald bay, we could see the whole lake, it was beautiful ...

... accidental one when we elected to play bumper-boats with another. All good preparation for a series of category III rapids about 2 hours downstream, suitably named Pinball, the Washing Machine, Jaws and suchlike. True to form, T was cautious in his enjoyment, whereas W absolutely loved it ("this is the epicest day ever"). R and J had a blast too, particularly when we did Jaws at the end, which requires you to have your wits about you. One of the boats got ...

Jalen's 1st trip to Tahoe- Worst trip

Jalen's 1st trip to tahoe was horrible. We went through a timeshare offer and the resort was so bad we left 1 day early! We saw our presentation which was horrible experience and checked out early. The room was small, dingy and so outdated. No AC as well and it was hot. We went to the Lake which was nice and Jalen dipped his feet in for the 1st time. He wasn't a fan because it was too cold. ...
