      ... in a routine of climbing a mountain pass a day (usually 2-4k ft of elevation gain) and then dropping down into a valley on the other side. It is quite spectacular as nearly every pass has at least one alpine lake near its summit. These lakes dump out into the next valley in a torrent of beautiful water falls and gushing rivers feeding more lakes. This is a water wonderland. Alas the mosquitoes are thick and any amount of time lingering is paid in blood.

      ... spoilt with fantastic scenery along the way, until we pulled into Meeks Bay Campground. We set up camp and took a stroll down to the small beach at the lake edge which was beautiful. Across the lake big green mountains dominated the skyline. We walked around a bit further and watched as the sky and few fluffy clouds turned a pinky orange in the sunset, which then reflected off the lake. Amazing.
