First up at Mycenae was the beehive tomb known as the Treasury of Artreus. It was built with no mortar - and of very heavy individual blocks. Then we went up to the fortress city of Mycenae. The Mycenaeans dominated the Greek world between 1600 and 1200 BC. The ancient Greeks a ...

Our first night was back to a traditional Greek family favourite , Osteria, which we nick name 'crazy lady restaurant' because as the wife gets tipsier during the course of the night her tongue sharpens. We often feel a bit sorry for the husband chef who is clearly a victim at times, along with any guest who dares cross her. The menu is ...

... was all very yummy and we even got a complimentary panna cotta with chocolate sauce. Then we went for a walk. Easter Sunday in Greece is not as I remembered - maybe if we had stayed up till midnight or gone to a midnight service here we could have joined in Easter festivities but I think that really it is a family event in Greece and at the time I was in Corfu I was 'employed' as a nanny and got to ...

... the island's infrastructure from his own pocket. So the road that goes around the island, he financed it and also the first (and only) cinema. Oh, another interesting thing about the island that the whole water supply is delivered by ships. So our Greek friend told us that probably we should not drink from the tap, but I did anyway. This water had no swimming pool taste at least :)

Leaving Spetses and going to Kalabaka, but that's in the next blog entry.
