After 7 months of sunshine in Greece we have decided we need a little more so are heading south in search of more blue skies...first destination though is Singapore to check out the Hawker Markets and Zoo. Then onto Cairns where we pick up our 'Spaceship' which will be our home for 10 weeks as we head down the east coast to Melbourne. Assuming that we survive the snakes ...

FROM POROS PORT IN KEFALONIA, TO KYLINI (PELOPONYSOS)
The day is beautiful today, and there is sunshine.
It is windy however, and we decided to return from Kilini instead, just one and a half hours in the Ferry.

... old days, but everything has changed now.
Even us, have changed so much.
Nico left Evia, and lives with his new wife in Kefalonia now. He seems so calm and seems to enjoy his new life. I was pleased to see him and we all remembered the good old days when he was in Evia with us. He promised to come to Evia and see us, and we shall arrange Music nights like those days again.

Sailing stops: Agistri, Epidaurus, Poros and Aegina
After our first overnight in Piraeus/Athens we took a taxi to the port and found the sailboat which we had booked for a 4 night sail around the Saronic Islands of Greece.
The weather was unbelievably hot and humid. The temperature outside when we boarded the sailboat was 102 and the high was forecasted to be 106. The sailboat was new and quite nice, and we learned a lot about sailboats during this portion of our ...
Isn't that funny? I love sun, heat, swimming-pool, seaside, but I got bored in such conditions on Zakynthos. I thought as if I was in a cage. Touristic zone, small Porta Koukla, near Laganas - was too small for the city dweller like me. One restaurant and two shops when I could pay with credit cards. Is it EU at all? With such a huge touristic demand and therfore experience they didn't think much of the facilities.
Zakynthos, Ionian Islands, Greece platonow... mainland side, where we hire a couple of small cars for the afternoon to make the 45 minute drive to the ancient site and Theatre of Epidaurus. This is one of the major ruins in Greece. Originally built as a place of healing, it grew to a very large and important site dedicated to Asklepios in Hellanistic and Roman times. Now most of the site is ruins, however the large theatre, which could hold 15,000 people, is in very good ...
