... earrings, and pendants for sale to ….us!

Ladies, things to look for when choosing a high quality pearl: shape; the rounder the better, lustre; a shiny lustre will cost you more, and lack of blemishes. Be prepared to pay more for perfect shell with no divots, wrinkles or marks.

Of course we were unleashed into the shopping area afterwards. Many merchants were happy that day!! Bargaining is a must, though.

Barely took any photos in Hangzhou as it ****** it down most of the time we were there but here are a few. So, since all these people were being cured of their diseases, the number of people who went to a certain temple to pray for healing (and thus to donate money) dwindled dramatically. This angered the monk there, and he tried to convince Xuxian to leave his wife because she was a snake ...

The land of Green Tea

After lunch in a restaurant near the canal town, we continued our journey to Hangzhou where we stopped at Lingyin Temple. The temple was originally built in 326 AD but has been destroyed and rebuilt no less than sixteen times. The temple was surprisingly busy, but we later found out this was because it was Buddha's birthday and entrance was free. It was quite interesting watching the Chinese people walk past our group - many stopped and stared, some ...
