The Ambience of Paris, tragedy at Versailles

... whole city that was done up, very elegant in most places, it was just a very cool experience.

The eiffel tower held its own surprises, that thing is so much bigger in real life. I have no idea how the hell they built that, it must have been one hell of a feat back at the end of the 19th century when it was built. I just couldn't believe it, check out the pictures. And at night, on the hour, it lights up like a disco ball, kinda just ...

And we're walking, and we're walking....

... which is such a grand sight to behold to the tourism office. There ,I embrace my tourism and scarf up enough brochures to start my own branch of tourism support. (later in the day when we've lugged all this around long enough, Chris "weeded" out the stack) Our first stop - Notre Dame. You've heard all the stories of her magnificence, grandeur and Gothic style so I'll spare you that part but what I will tell you about is the bustling plethora of eclectic people that ...

Au revoir Paris!

Today was our last day in Paris. After a slow start to the morning, queuing for ages to reserve our seats on the next few train journeys, we travelled on the local RER to the Latin Quarter. We first had a wander in Notre Dame, although we did not see the hunchback. We then strolled through the ...

What do on the Sunday afternoon before you go home

... off from work. Did I send that email? Have I got everything for that meeting next week? Oh, look there's a nice café, shall we stop there? Was that report I finished at 10 O'clock last night OK? After that - usually the Saturday - you get into your stride and you really begin to feel you're on holiday. Museums, art galleries, churches, shops and beautiful squares manage to edge work out of your brain ...

Sabbath near Charleroi

... future, especially how we might work together and better serve our brethren in French-Europe. I took my leave about 8:30 pm and started the drive back down to Paris. A bit before 11:00 I took a hotel room not far from the airport for the night. Now I'm repacking one last time and preparing for the trip home. I can't wait to see my family again. It's been a full and successful three weeks, but now I'm quite ready to be home!

Marseille without Bars, American without Tears

... people around the world as if they were really Chinese who just... don't go there. He'll go anywhere that hates America or globalization, so that he can join in the demonstration, donning the local garb and banging a drum. He even got his Ph.D. from Moscow University, but long after the USSR had folded. It's easy to be Communist when it's all over. He came in first in the elections for Senator in 2006. He even helped stir up sentiment against ...

Tra, La, La, Bustiere!

... fun with many others making the pilgrimage. Many people lying in the herbe verte, sitting on the steps enjoying incredible vue of the ville de Paris. Darby said many prayers and special intentions at the various altars in the church. We enjoyed some relaxation et photos on the herbe verte in front of the grand basilica. Trois manege rides, souvenier shopping and a trois creme glacees later we were fini! Bon Appetit!

Kuten ehk ...

au revoir paris!

yesterday was actually a pretty cool day in paris. although i didn`t hit everything on my overly ambitious travel agenda, i got to spend practically the whole day with joe and chris. even though there are times i enjoy travelling on my own, i am starting to realize that for me, many experiences are more fun when shared with family and friends. so, joe and chris met me at notre dame at 11. we did the whole touristy thing - the churchy part, took lots of stained glass ...

Paris, France...Five Visits (World)

... people, since there still seems to be an idea of rudeness or something. But I have found the French people very nice and helpful. This is certainly true of Parisians, anyway.

As far as the "Top Ten Sights" listed by the author, I have seen or gone to the following: Arc de Triomphe, Hotel des Invalides, The Louvre, and Notre Dame. As far as her other "Must-Do's": I have taken a Bateau-Mouche Cruise on the Seine, seen ...
