How we travelled from Medan to Kuching…

          Stage 1: August 6, 2014

We arrived in Medan at 7.30 and had a free transfer to a place from where the airport shuttle departed. This was great for us because we didnīt have a clue how to get there. The shuttle bus cost IDR 12,500 per person and the journey from the city center to the airport lasted 1,5 hours.

When we arrived at the airport we had pretty much all day long there since our flight was supposed to ...

So we left Chicken **** Towers and made for a quick overnight in Kota Kinabalu, where we started some 3 weeks ago. Took the short flight to Kuching this morning , and have found cheap, clean, odourless accommodation with lightening-quick wifi in the heat and humidity of the city.

... wazs open and exposed... We decided... NOPE! We headed toward Pizza Hut, where the waitress opened the door for us and asked if we were dining in or taking away... I guess we will eat here tonight! Josh and I got a yummy pizza each and a drink and it came to about$20AUD - not bad! We paid and headed back to the hotel.

We spent the night in tonight, playing games on the laptop and Vita and Ipod.

          We will go exploring tomorrow!

          15 APRIL

One of us was rudely awakened this morning around 0400 by an impressive storm; first the lightning (like you wouldn’t believe), then the thunder followed by heavy rain. The novelty
had worn off by 0630 so I decided to go to the gym! Needless to say the other one of us had a lay in!
Late Breakfast this morning around 0830; still raining so no rush to get out.

          ... like group tours.

On the first day we went to book accommodation at the Bako National Park (more in next blog) and we also wanted to see the orchid garden. We took the small river taxi from the jetty to the other side of the river, however we went to the wrong stop and we were only walking around with no luck of finding the garden. We also met some British tourists who were doing the same without any success. ...
