... talking very fast. Too fast for my limited Spanish to comprehend. So I had no idea I was effectively camping in Miami for the night. Until the American Jehovah's Witness and grumpy British man joined me in my base camp (beside the power outlet nearest the Starbucks). We soon realised we spoke a common language and shared a common inability to understand angry-mob-Spanish. Just from one day of being home, he has already showed some improvement ...

... I won't explain, but will just say that we don't start fully earning what we can expect to make on a regular basis until January. For me with child support to pay, this means I have no money to spare for Christmas presents for anyone. Obviously I am wide awake on this couch in this lounge at 2am sleeping in the bed I made. I chose this new lifestyle. I hold onto faith that this is a sacrifice I am making for better times ...

New Tires and Gear for Alaska

A travel blog entry by brianpk on Apr 17, 2013

I woke up before everyone else in the house today. I had a 93 mile trip to make in order to get my motorcycle to the shop where it was going to get new tires and its 48 thousand mile service. It was partly overcast, humid and cool to begin the day. Traffic wasn't too bad on I-75 until the usual spot around Eagles landing where traffic almost always slows down.

I was still able to make it up to Marietta around 9 am. Once the ...
