Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

We woke up to a foggy lake and cold morning. The weather in this area is nice during the day, but seems to cool off quite a bit at night. We had nice hot showers in a very cool building but finally felt clean after several days of boondocking. ... particular ranch for about 8months. He seemed to be a lot more chatty than the day before and said he enjoyed the company because the horses don't talk back... shame! He has eaten some interesting foods in his life... squirrel, rattlesnakes, catfish, to name a few. GROSS!
