... A lovely surprise was when Hannah arrived, it was good to see her. Janie and Mark put on a fantastic feast for all of us. Hannah had to leave and Janie had to head out to a meeting. I wasn't really sure how much I would find to do in Memphis, all I had really heard about was how dangerous it was. Of course, I know the "Walking in Memphis" song and that the city had deep roots in blues music but I am not a musical historian and didn't know how much actually went on there. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how much culture and history Memphis had to offer.

We will be part of a small group with fourteen other participants and our tour guide Rafael, all of whom we will meet for the first time when we arrive in San Jose.
