... A lovely surprise was when Hannah arrived, it was good to see her. Janie and Mark put on a fantastic feast for all of us. Hannah had to leave and Janie had to head out to a meeting. The kids watched a movie. The rest of us sat on the back porch chatting about anything and everything. Rachel then joined us for a bit. We had a wonderful evening. Everyone then headed off either home or to bed. I sat up doing a load of washing and watched some tv before finally getting into bed at ...

... but OK considering I have not played in a year or so (1st 9 - 49, 2nd 9 - 45)!!! Forgot my camera so unfortunately no pics!!

... which was nice too. The next day we went to Graceland, Elvis' home. I did some awesome cheapskate work, finding a coupon for 50% off the entry fee, so we all got in relatively cheaply, which as a year long traveller, I loved! It was great to see. Funnily enough, not even Elvis could get away from that tacky 70's styling! We spent 5 or so hours here and then went back to the hotel to rest up for the night. Later that night we drove into town, to ...

The Germantown Commissary in East Memphis started life as a general store over 100-years ago. Today, the smell of smoky pork and sticky sweet ribs is ingrained in its wooden walls and rafters. We read about this place on Tripadvisor and came to try good old-fashioned Memphis barbeque. Thoroughly sick after demolishing pulled pork sandwiches smothered in hickory sauce along with their cream-covered banana pudding, we stopped for a spot ...

... name it and they have put his picture on it, all made in china or honduras of course. It is very commercialised and we are sure without Elvis Memphis would hardly exist. Beale street in downtown Memphis is famous for all the blues bars. The hotel runs a shuttle into it each night and yes we were on it. Beale St is so much more civilised than Nashville a much older crowd and the music is so much better, we probably did about 5 or 6 ...
