    ... so many of the hobos spent their time downtown. I mean, Hollywood and the sickening wealth of Beverly Hills are right there (although, I do suppose that the Beverly Hills cops would be on to them straight away if they were caught anywhere near Katy Perry's house). Even so, the bus to Santa Monica was free for us because the machine was broken, but only $1.50 for 16 miles normally. Surely the seaside is more appealing than a street corner in downtown LA.     ... cheap figurines; blankets; jewellery etc. The driver asked us not to leave the main street as it was not safe - nothing was mentioned on booking this tour.

    So, after teaming up with another kiwi, we wandered up and down the street which was nothing but disappointing. After this exploration, we did the only other thing we could and headed to a bar, drinking margarita's until the bus returned - $20 for 8 margarita's wasn't too bad.

    Another day on the hop on hop off bus and we got to explore the "purple route" there were quite a few cool buildings to look at, notably the Walt Disney Concert hall, which Shane was very excited about.
