Simple basic, hotel. I was on a Harley Ride around the perimeter of the USA and wanted a first night stop coming from Florida. This served me well. Not a typical Hampton. External entry, nice staff basic.

... When we planned this trip we knew we were visiting our kids all the rest of it we would go with the flow. We never expected to see and do all of what we accomplished. We may not have an opportunity to be away for three months consecutive again but are certainly glad for doing it now.

Since Hayley was out of action I drove us out of Washington, D.C. in spite of the sat nav being a bit ****, and onto the i95 where we stayed all day today and will continue on tomorrow! A single stop at Denny's for lunch and one stop for gas and in total I covered 316 miles today until we landed ...
... asphalt to finally arrive safely to a home cooked meal at Mom and Dad Hall's house in North Carolina.
A few highlights:
- Our highest ever night camping at 12,000ft at the base of four majestic 14ers in Alma, CO.
- The trip up highway 82 from Aspen to Leadville ...
... a range of 411 miles, can't complain about that as it would get us to where we needed to go.
This drive was long and straight. Mile after Mile of wooded hills and valleys as we passed through Virginia and North Carolina. Passing umpteen civil war battlefields, Richmond the confederate capital and the Stonewall Jackson memorial gave us a real sense of history.
