    Nice basic Hotel

Simple basic, hotel. I was on a Harley Ride around the perimeter of the USA and wanted a first night stop coming from Florida. This served me well. Not a typical Hampton. External entry, nice staff basic.

... looking from the side, I could see that it was like an umbrella. At one point I was right in the midst of the pitcher plants and a fly was buzzing around my head. I thought to myself that isn’t a very safe place for a fly and that he would likely end up as lunch for one of these carnivorous plants. Hiking downstream along Campbell Creek, the spring scenery was beautiful. The leaves were starting to bud on the trees and there a number of wildflowers poking out through the forest floor. When I got to where the creek flows into Cape Fear River, I took a short detour to Lanier Falls. ...

    ... Ted took great pics.

As we are exiting from the drive all of us chatting at the same time about the turtles and the feeding frenzy Ted & Rich shout at the same time. What is crossing the road in front of us.......an alligator that was 10-12 feet long. We could not believe our eyes. Ted took a phenomenal picture.
What a perfect way to finish our journey.

We ended the evening with dinner and sharing of making wonderful ...

... I then had to guide her into her room (unsuccessfully navigating the corner...) where I promptly left her lol. Bless.

Suffice to say, this morning we were greeted by a very hungover Hayley who continued to retch most of the morning!

Alex was a little worse for wear but recovered much more quickly! I'll have to get one of them to write a post of their exploits as it sounds like they had a very good ...
