... of Cabelas in Sidney. I drove from Sidney to Grand Island. When we got to Ogallala, we were driving along the North Platte River. We followed the river all the way to Hastings where the river turned northeast and we just drove east on to Lincoln and then Omaha. At Kearney we passed under the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument. The freeway goes right underneath it. Arrived in Denver. Nice flight, plenty of leg room. I had booked a car through hot wire. Got to the rental car office - EZ rental. Found out the car could not be taken out of state. So back to my phone and found a car at Alamo. Got a ride with EZ to Alamo. That was a $500 Bo Bo. We drove 2 hrs to Laramie and the Hampton Inn was very nice. Off to Park ...

... through the centennnial
valley of mostly blm lands. The road is long, rutted and dusty and surrounded by
cattle grazing on dry hills. The road
apparently warrants an I 15 insterstate interchange in Idaho near
Spencer ID, where we headed south on I 15 to Camas National
Wildlife Refuge, about 50 miles south for a visit along our way south to Idaho falls where we hoped to
find a powered campground with showers.

We woke up to a lovely coating of snow but the sky was clear which looked promising. We left Boulder at 9 and the car temperature gauge in the car was saying 33F which is 1C. Needless to say we had many layers on and all our trekking gear on. First stop was an outlet shopping area north of Boulder, good for shoes and jeans but not much else.
