    ... shop in Hayes...stopped at a the Firetender Trading Post in Russell...saw a couple of storm chaser vehicles (didn’t get a picture of the one that looked like a tank)....saw THOUSANDS of wind turbines for a 40 mile stretch east of Hayes...got into the motel in Salina around 6...went to dinner at Hickory Hut BBQ for great ribs...back to the motel to ...

    ... seemingly followed us right to
    Missouri. 6 of the 10 days had rains; our last night consisted of 40-mile an
    hour winds, a fuse blowing out on our front RV jacks and a ton of four letter
    words batted about while getting soaked to the bone.

    Before it gets too pessimistic I will mention that we had a
    blast. Pat and I wound up talking over different guns and ammo; Defenders are
    the way to go shotgun wise. I think my wife and Elizabeth talked and stared at
    yarn ...

    ... huge gardens to feed all the workers.
    The Laura Plantation was run by 4 generations of women. The present owners are historians and we were lucky enough to have a guided tour by the owner who inundated us with a wealth of historical facts and stories that was so entertaining.....his tour went for 90 minutes. They had a fire in 2003 and it took 3 years to rebuild.
    The Oak Plantation a few miles away ...

    ... Little Big Horn in Montana. I conjured up a vision of Custer in one of these valley's looking upon the surrounding ridges and saying "wow, that's a shitload of indians!". I didn't take the time to visit either of these places....I had a schedule to keep.

  • no clue about merging, granted they rarely have anywhere to merge to, but the concept of getting up to speed and blending is completely lost on them
