    The Laura Plantation was run by 4 generations of women. The present owners are historians and we were lucky enough to have a guided tour by the owner who inundated us with a wealth of historical facts and stories that was so entertaining.....his tour went for 90 minutes. They had a fire in 2003 and it took 3 years to rebuild.
