Lovely hotel. Excellent and friend staff! Breakfast's were delicious. Make sure to go to Happy Hour at the bar - the barman we had on both occasions was super nice!

      Excellent value for the price

      from

Stayed at the Hawthorn Suites on Canada Avenue for four nights in December 2003. Excellent value for the price. The kitchen had a full size refrig, dishwasher and all the appliances that we would need. The bedroom was separate as well as the vanity area. The staff was most accomodating. There was even a full hot breakfast every morning from 6:30 -10:00 and a reception with an open bar every night from 5:30-7:30.

      Great Value

      from

We spent three nights at this hotel in November, 2003. We couldn't believe the large size of the rooms and how nice it was for such a modest price. You get a spacious, nice, clean suite for the price of a regular hotel room. The location was excellent: one block off International Drive and close to Wet n Wild and Universal Studios. It also had a free, full breakfast. The selection may not have been as good as at a restaurant breakfast bar, but it was good food and allowed us to fill up early in the day and get out to see the sights. The bathroom had a hair dryer and a fold out makeup mirror that my wife really liked. It had two large TVs in the bedroom and in the living room. The pool area was nice and was open late. The only thing the hotel lacked was a kiddie pool.

      Our First Stop

      from

I could not believe the Hotel of Horrers Review. We have stayed at the Hawthorn Suites for the last 3 Orlando visits, almost since it first opened and this year were pleased to note that the quality of the rooms and staff had not deteriorated at all. In fact, some faces we recognised - something you do not see often! We found the rooms clean and tidy, any comments were immediately responded to and the breakfast is one of my favourites in Florida. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

      Great Hotel

      from

We stayed here Aug.23-30 and were completely satisfied with the hotel. There were five of us and we were very comfortable in the room. The hotel seems relatively new and everything was in good shape. The free hot breakfast was a lifesaver for us as this was a real budget trip. It made it easier to get out to the parks on time having the buffet breakfast. Happy Hour was very enjoyable too! The kids loved going up to the bartender and getting their own Shirley Temples! The hospitality was super, the only problem we had was with the number of towels. We had to keep asking for more because we usually showered twice a day! I would stay here again in a minute! (Got it for $70/night)

      Enjoyable stay

      from

We stayed at this hotel during the last week in July for 6 days. Hotel rooms were spacious and clean. With three kids ages 8 thru 15, the suite was ideal. Free breakfast and happy hour were OK and convieniant.

Great place to stay for the price. 5 minute drive to Universal and Sea World.

      Nice Clean Hotel

      from

Hawthorne Suites is a nice clean place to stay. The suites are very nice and clean. They look like the pictures on the internet. They have an exercise room, game room, barbeque area, and small pool. The breakfast was okay. The hotel provides free shuttle to the themeparks.

The shuttle was a charter bus with air conditioning. Always ran on time. I suggest not to purchase park tickets in the hotel. The lady there was selling tickets for $2 over what they cost at the parks.

Everything was good, but the elevators are slow and hot water isn't very hot after someone takes a shower. Overall its a good deal for the price paid. I would stay here or at another Hawthorne again.

      Nice Clean Place

      from

Just back from Hawthorn Suites, we stayed there the first 3 nights of our vacation and really enjoyed our stay. We arrived our first night and the Free 2 hour evening cocktail reception & hors doeuvres was just starting. We checked in and went straight into the lounge. This Free reception is for everyone. Then we moved into our room, this was a nice suite with a full size fridge, microwave, stove and dishwasher. The hotel also has a basketball court area, not a full court, game room, fitness room, whirlpool spa, BBQ grills and guest laundry. They do have a basic swimming pool and no kiddy pool, but it was ok with us. The next day we went down for Free hot breakfast. I loved this every morning, we really saved some money. Im not saying it was the best breakfast, but it was a good deal. This hotel is 1 block off International Drive on Canada Avenue next door to the Pirate Dinner Show. You can also catch the I-Trolley on International Drive, 5 min walk. The Free Bus Transportation to all Disney parks, U. Studios, IOA, Sea World and Wet & Wild. I will say this is not the best service I ever used, but it was not the worst either. The bus service ran on a set schedule, but seem to be on time most of the time. One thing I did like about the service, if the bus was full when it arrived at your hotel, the driver would call another bus that would arrive in minutes, also the bus service ran till 2am for City Walk. U. Studios is less than a mile away if you want to drive. In conclusion I will say this is a nice clean place to stay, I got a rate of $ 69.00 a night and was well satisfied. I would stay here again.

      Loved this place.

Just had to respond to hotel of horrors, because we were in that very hotel on the week he seems to have found everything wrong. The breakfast is very good and satisfying and the social hour was above our expectations. By our second night the bartender would start to get our drink ready when we entered the lounge. If you are looking for above the norm value, this is certainly the place. This May will be our fourth trip to Hawthorne suites.P.S. If you think the elevator is slow ask for a room on the first floor.

      Great hotel

Don't let the above comment regarding stealing

put you off. This is a fantastic hotel for the price. The rooms are large and spacious, the kitchen area was very clean, there is a great hot breakfast buffet included in the room rate. Even better is the 2 hour free cocktails and snacks - generally the snacks were nachos + cheese, however we also had HOT DOGS and SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS !!!

All in all a superb hotel with very nice staff

      Hotel of Horrors

      from

BEWARE staying at Hawthorn Suites you could be accused of stealing without any proof! We were! Hotel security accused us of stealing a TV remote controller because it wasn't in the room when we arrived. To our shock and dismay we later learned Hawthorn Suites knew TV controllers were missing in rooms, they were having problems with an order forcontrollers. Being accused of stealing was just the beginning of our nightmare. Bring your own replacement toilet paper and tissue or call days ahead. We waited 15 hours finally got it at 2 o'clock in the morning. You'll also need bug spray and dishes unless you don't mind using dishes and silverware with encrusted food on them.

Bottom line is :Bottom line: They don't care about service or problems; they got their money, you paid in advance by booking online.

We've arrived in the land where you can live out your childhood and not be judged :)

After settling in we had to do some shopping for dinners and snacks etc. - and where do you get all these love treats, WALMART of course! It was a short walk from our hotel - Craig, Staci and I went. For the record, Florida is a cheapish place to live, and …

... shelter and waited. While we waited a beautiful double rainbow formed to one side of us and a beautiful sunset to the other side.

The shuttle got us back just before 9 and we got them to drop us near reception so we didn't have to walk 500m to dinner. I had a vegetable wrap with fresh fruit which was really good and Marie had a burger and onion flowers which she enjoyed. Before dinner we talked to guest services about what we might do tomorrow and ...

It is really dark though in the West Wing where we are sat, so much so, we all have to get our phones out to be able to see the menu. Not sure this was the effect that they were trying to achieve! All in all a great day and big smiles all ...

Today was only 50f and windy this morning dropped the girls at Universal Park at 8:45 then I came back had a nap until noon as it was too cold to go to the pool. So in the afternoon Mike and I hung by the pool. Then we picked up the girls around 6:30 then went to dinner at Carrabba's Italian Grill. Erica had a Caesar Salad, Mike had a pizza, Sandra had Chicken Marsala and Taylor had pasta with shrimp and scallops. Then we came home and just hung out.
