... They had a back up generator which provided emergency lighting, aka— one small light per room. Thankfully, we had hot water so we took a hot shower to warm up before bed… of course with no light. When the power goes out it is usually back on after 6 hours.
Anyway, pretty uneventful- we went to bed and woke up to power and breakfast.

Oh yeah, we got this nice fortune cookie message during our layover in Atlanta. Right before we hit the plane to ...

We got our first glimpse of the Big Five that morning, as well as a load of zebras/assorted antelope/giraffes/giant bloody spiders - water buffalo lurking in the distance, and a black rhino and her calf only about 100m away (so close that the clicking of a DSLR lens was too loud). ... days.

Many campers have already surrendered their life to Jesus Christ. It's amazing to see how God transforms lives. I'm so blessed to be here in South Africa and to be a part of this mission team. Thank you for all your support financially and prayerfully to help me get here. Tomorrow afternoon we are flying to East London followed by a two hour drive to Whittlesea. Please pray for safe travel and that God would prepare our hearts to serve in Whittlesea.

a specific “ask” for funding or other “asks” that would help their business
thrive even more. We then heard from Richard himself as he addressed our small
