We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

The first thing we had to do after leaving our slip, is to fill up the boat with plenty of gas to get us to Taormina ---- many miles away. We had to wait for a while for the boat that was there to move... So this delayed our true departure about 1/2 hour. Once we filled our two tanks, we ...

    ... at 1200 on 16th June.

Since the thunderstorms the weather had been much more settled and we had been swimming every day off the boat in beautiful clear warm water. The sea was filling up with yachts, motor cruisers, ferry boats, hire boats and tripper boats so the holiday season had begun. The anchorages around Corfu are delightful and the people very friendly and welcoming. At last I felt that we could relax into the summer and ...
