... a few phone calls confirmed that there are no other motorbikes with similar sized pushrods and there are certainly no spares in Norway right now. So, again with a lot of creativity it was repaired. The rod was broken cleanly at the two cracks, a thread was cut into each of the ends (the pushrod is hollow) and a bolt of appropriate size was given a longer thread and its head was removed to create a pair of studs to rejoin and reinforce the pushrod. We pulled ourselves deeper into the bivvi bag but then if our heads are in the bag it fogs up inside from our breath and then is wet inside and outside the bag. It was all too much at this moment and I burst into hysterical crying.

At four AM it was fully light and the rain had stopped. Felix got up and ...

... used our new mozzie net across the door, held in place with two foam pool noodles which worked a treat. We slept in the same narrow bed, rolling over in synchrony throughout the night. I was very glad it doesn't get dark at night around here this time of year, every time I woke up thinking I’d heard something I was very happy I could look around and see clearly.

This morning we washed in the lake and had breakfast in the sun before heading to the mechanic. ...
