... some steep sections - luckily we were going down - as well as wider tracks weaving through trees starting to display autumn colours. I could understand why this was a popular area for bushwalking, and the Germans visit here frequently. To finish off a fairly tiring day, we spent a few hours in the thermal spring pool, a great way to ease tired muscles. I slept like a log that night. Tomorrow we will be travelling to another riverside village called Boppard, on the ...

... the bells echoed through the valley. It reminded me of a some what demented version of the gamelan music of Indonesia. I was also expecting Julie Andrews to appear at any minute.

We travelled to Dresden for an overnight stop, as a small break within our six night stay in Prague. Dresden is a two hour train journey from Prague, though with decidedly untypical inefficiency, our Deutsche Bahn train was late, again. We arrived in Dresden in the middle of the afternoon, then found our way by tram to our apartment for the night, near the Old Town.

The apartment was easily one of the best places we have stayed in all of our ...

... almost 100% of the train trips we’ve made, there have been delays, and not just on one train, but each of the connecting trains (which actually sometimes is handy, because even if you’re late, you can hope the next train will be late too!!!). It is a real shame. I love train travel, but it is annoying when they are so unreliable now, not to mention that they are so often packed, obviously less trains are running and ...
