Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendor. The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its baroque and rococo city center. The controversial British and American bombing of Dresden in World War II ...

Deciding to go back outside she sat downwind of the others and feasted upon smoked pork, sauerkraut and Bohemian dumplings with of course the obligatory Pilsner Urquell to wash it down. Happy at last, she headed back behind the iron curtain to attempt to get some ...

... the street with ours. We then spent the rest of the night at Ostpol, which of all the clubs and bars listed in Use-It sounded the most like our kind of place. Inside was like going back in time to an old East German GDR bar with couches that looked like they belonged in your grandparents lounge room, and retro computer games like Pong.
