Japenese Garden and Rain
So Sunday I decided to take it slow- after all I was on vacation- and got up late, had some leftover yummy Vietnamese for breakfast and some coffee. Then started planning how to get to the Japanese garden and to Lake Oswego for an interview the following day. I went and talked to the Bellhops who were incredibly helpful. We booked a rental car …
Lake Oswego, getting really lost
Those who know me well know about my general directional impairment. I get easily turned around and have to put a good deal of preparation into any driving that may occur in unfamiliar territory. This was no different. I finally found the freeway after 20 or so minutes of driving in square patterns, and made my way over to Lake Oswego where my …
The Conference
On Tuesday, the doubletree housed the Green Professionals Conference. This had been my primary reason for selecting said hotel and it worked out wonderfully as I could take my time eating breakfast, which was provided free at the conference, putter around, check my email ,register and smooze. I had the privilege of attending a mixer the night prior …
A very short visit to the City of Roses
My wife and I took a short trip to Portland, OR, to visit my nephew, and some of the sites surrounding the city. My nephew was working at St Josephs and Emanuel hospitals, so we were able to spend about a half-a-day with him. While there, we visited the rose garden, the art museum, the OMSI museum, Multnomah Falls, Columbia Gorge, …

Historical Traveler Reviews Doubletree by Hilton Portland
Most comfortable beds EVER
I recently spent a week at the Doubletree Hotel Portland Lloyd Center. The stay was pretty much what I expect out of Doubletree properties, but the BED! Oh, the BED!! I couldn't wait to crawl into that soft fluffy bit of heaven. With five pillows per bed and what had to be a pillow top mattress, it was an incredible night sleep. I wanted to take the bed with me! These were at least two cuts above the normal hotel mattress. And I'm in hotels at least 40 nights a year!
One of the best
What a pleasant surprise! This was the most enjoyable hotel stay we have experienced in several years. The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Check in was friendly and fast.
Parking was easy and relatively inexpensive considering the super location and the trend by big city hotels to rip you off on parking these days.
Both restaurants were excellent and reasonably priced. Location to the Loyd center shopping and to transportation to downtown could not be beat. Can't wait to go back.
Hotel Great, Restaurant Dissapointing
Beautiful hotel and a great location. Close to Lloyd Center and public Transit. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of the city. Had a dinner and a breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. Both meals were over priced and mediocre. I suggest venturing out of the hotel for meals.
Great value
Comfortable clean rooms. Friendly staff. Heated pool.Close to the Max (light rail) which goes to airport, town & zoo.
Great location
great location...right across the street from the max and a mall. there was a pool at the hotel but it was outside :( the hotel upgraded us for free which was just a wonderful suprise. the glass elevators are really fun for the kids. i would highly rec this place!
Beautiful view and good location
The location next to Lloyd Center, the light rail (MAX), and freeways made it easy to get around. The view of downtown Portland from the balcony on the 9th floor was wonderful, as was the view from the glass elevator. The room was large. I arrived early from the airport around 1:30 p.m. and was given a room immediately which I greatly appreciated. Parking (as noted in the other reviews) is their one problem.
Shoppers haven
Arrived 11/7/03 around 8:30, checked in and arrived just before the restraunt closed. Staff seated and served my large group - no problem. The room with a veiw of the city and pool, was clean and comfortable. Shopped the Lloyd Center, jumped on the Max, shopped the market, back on the Max and onto the Pioneer Square for more shopping and lunch. Had drinks in the hotel and a wonderful brunch Sunday morning. I plan to return next year.
Must Read This
Absolultly the the least professional place we have ever stayed. The boy that helped us during check in lied about where I could park and I recieved a ticket. He also lied about our terms of payment and because they couldn't figure it out our bank account was adjusted three times during the following week with no concent or contact. Then, when we tried to call to figure out was going on, we reached absolutly the rudest reservationist we have EVER talked to. She chewed my girlfriend up and down and told us that there was nothing she could do. Through the entire experience we came in contact with three of their employees. None of which deserve a job dealing with the public.
An excellent accommodation!
7/1-7/7,02 -- just spent a week in Portland at the Doubletree -- a very nice hotel, pleasant, helpful employees from the front door on up. Restaurants good. Walkable to the convention center, Rose Arena, and Lloyd Center Mall (right across the street); in addition, the MAX transportation (excellent transportation) a few steps from the front door -- takes you to and from airport, into the city proper over to the zoo -- swimming pool garden lovely! -- would I stay there again, YES I WOULD!
Great Hotel In Portland
