    Jurassic World

I went to see Jurassic World 3D with my parents. The movie tickets in this town are so cheap-- $12.75 for adults, $9 for seniors-- and that's for 3D!! There was live music across the street and overall a very good Friday night atmosphere in town! I thought the movie was very entertaining. The 3D aspect wasn't too astounding, like I never felt like the dinosaurs were right in front of me or coming towards me, but the creation of a theme park on screen was very exciting! Highly ...

I am starting to organize my room: 1) things to take with me to the camps (5 weeks), 2) things to take back to NC in August, and 3) things that will stay here. So many things I could honestly live without...! Haha.

Inversion is any yoga pose where your pelvis is placed higher than your head (so think headstand, handstand, shoulder stand). These belong to the vairagya category. When you do a certain pose, you want to do it with a certain attitude or feeling, called Bhava in Sanskrit. Vairagya means ...

... school materials. There's a program called Sketchy Micro, which has great picmonic videos for microbiology. Mnemonics have long been medical student favorites, but picmonics take it to the next level! Basically, it's learning concepts and memorizing things by associating them with pictures. For example, remembering that a treatment for a certain bacteria is penicillin by drawing a pencil or remembering that a bacteria is ...

    10-day Vipassana Course

    Hello!

I'm back! I'm alive. I'm content. I completed the 10-day Vipassana course at a non-center in Harrisonburg, VA.

What an experience. I've had a week for it to sink in now.

Ten days of Noble Silence. Ten 17-hour days, 10 of which were dedicated to meditation. I was not able to write, read, do yoga, practice my other meditation techniques or cling onto my usual coping mechanisms. I had many intrusive thoughts, and I just had to ...
