The morning before I'd had weet-bix with banana for breakfast and this morning I got to have vegemite on baguette for breakfast. It was great and felt so much like home. I put some pictures on my blog because I hadn't been able to do it for a while and I knew there is at least one person out there (my dad) who reads it on a regular basis, so I thought he ...

Left Zwijndrecht in Tante Corrie and Oom Piets' camper and drove to Ouwerkerk to the Vier Bannen campsite where my cousin and his family are. Spending the week here. We did a lot of window shopping and just wandered round. After visiting several phone shops when they had opened! we decided on a sim card from KPN network. John had to get our old phone unlocked from its old network provider. ...

... to several well-known places: Den Haag, Gouda, Delft. We didn't know it, but soon found out that it was a national holiday in honor of the former queen Julianna, and all these places had celebrations going on. Dave had wanted to find some gouda cheese in Gouda, but we couldn't find a cheese seller of any kind. In all the towns the people dressed kind of quirky in orange, and by the time we got to Delft, the party was in full swing. Also, ...

... military there with fully-automatic rifles, then make sure they know what they're doing. I mean, I learnt just that much from a little logic and a life-time of video game abuse. Cover your angles and a civilian could either be a threat or a distraction. They were exactly the same in the main train station of Paris. Poor formation, poor coverage. You dropped the ball on this one, military of France, but this is probably why France has never been a world power because of their military.
