So this morning started early. Really early. I woke up in our tent at about 3am to Jess sitting up and shifting around. In my sleepy, delirious state I asked what on earth she was doing at such an hour. She said that it had been raining non-stop, and that she'd been dripped on so much that she was getting dripped on and had to change. I sat up and investigated my side of the tent - water had gotten in and soaked the side of my sleeping bag, and the wind was so ferocious ...

It turned out that Sergeant Angelo S Klonis was his father and the image was one of the most famous taken in the War and ergo had become an extremely well known image in the US.
