So. We flew overnight with Spirit airlines - the US version of Jetstar / Ryan Air / Air Asia. We left Denver at 11:30pm, arrived in Fort Lauderdal at 5:45am minus 1 hour. Celia greeted us enthusiastically along with Madeline. Alice and I were less than enthusiastic at this hour.

Our flight leaves Orlando at 2:08pm so I'll see you at the United Airlines counter at 11:15am. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes from my house near I-95 to the Orlando Airport. It is sheer incompetence in this day and age that they cannot get it right. The customer is the one who has to be inconvenienced always. You have to sit for 45 minutes and wait to be able to check in your bags and then you have to join the back of the queue. No excuses....

... and we stopped for lunch, found some salad & fries but had enormous difficulty finding anything resembling a cultery dispenser. They were these vertical canisters divided into thirds with knives/forks/spoons dispensed from the bottom of each third. we finished looking around the display and then (going thru then inevitable gift shop) queued for the bus back to the visitor centre. We had been told not to miss the Atlantis display so headed in there. There ...
