... and walked all around trying to find them to no avail. No one at the reception desk was very friendly and when I asked about the three different times printed about our arrival in Barcelona one girl yelled at me that I was wrong. That was the end of my happy vacation. Went back to the room and packed and Rachel went to the disco and we got 4 hours of sleep.

The journey begins

The day as finally arrived to begin our 6 month break, away from the damp, wet climate of Mid Wales. The plan is to drive from here to Portsmouth to catch the Pride of Bilbao ferry bound for Bilbao, a journey that takes about 36 hours. The only part to worry about is the crossing across the ...

Para Empezar

... I realize that my phobia of large horrid American groups of people are realized when we walk through el barrio and we get all these horrible stares for being Americano and obnoxious. I hate tourists in Chicago, of course I don't wanna be one in Spain! And I know how much hassle it is for not much thanks, (thanks Walgreens). And so I hate being ostentatious like that. We did get some free drinks and the food was on CIEE which ...

Day 41 - Lemonade

... after a few miles of cycling. Murcia basically has about 6 motorways going through it. Cant cycle on these. cant navigate because of our incredibly basic A3 map of spain. So we went and bought a beer. Then, a bit drunk (what!? it was hot and we were dehydrated from cycling) we aimlessly cycled around until we found a more detailed map behind some perspex glass, up a lamp post, at a bus stop. Probably shouldnt have taken it but desperate times.. . . . we are ...

Day 40 - "Uno PLATO!!"

Has to be the funniest morning yet. The three of us and the two Belgians got up early to get some breakfast from the cafeteria. We mistakenly thought it was all you can eat. . . It wasnt. We were the first group of people in the cafeteria and we tried to make 5 sandwiches each and stuff our pockets full of fruit and biscuits for the day. We used up all of the cheese and ham which was laid out on individual plates. The ...

Day 39- Who needs uni if you have a british nutter

So Alex had to go back to the consulate in the morning and being true friends me and Olly decided to join him. In the Brittish consulate you basically have about 15 people at any time who have had their passports robbed. During our short stay we spoke to a few fellow British people around us. A particularily funny convosation started with an old british man who was keen to share his words of wisdom, unfortunately, he was not even slightly wise. He started the ...

Day 38 - Dancing like motherbitches!

... few hours Miguel turned up and told us his stories of being lost which involved running round the city for two hours looking confused. He obviously went up for a shower. Shortly after a German girl (Jessica) started talking to me looking to meet some people. She told me a funny story about how she had just seen this crazy looking confused person running around a bus stop. This story was ...

Spain

... from a cup my grandparents had when I was little. Ahhhhhh... Our first day here we went to the local supermarket, and what a huge store! Everything you need to survive, along with an incredible fresh seafood market, displaying the day's fresh catches, including octopus, lobster, crab, shrimp, sardines, and a huge variety of large fish. All placed on crushed ice beds. Very neat! We are headed back to that district today for more sightseeing, and in search of internet! Love the Koltzoo Crew!
