... night, and quite close. Thunder and lightening and lots of rain. Today I went to Church. Technically twice. I had checked the website on Friday, which said Mass was at 0915. I got there to be told it had been moved to 1100 (clearly made this decision later as the newsletter also said the original time) So I walked home. Good day exploring Lincoln. Only drawback ... such steep streets. Climbed our way up to Lincoln Cathedral and Castle. Originally built in the time of William the Conquorer (11th centuary) when he wanted the two built so close because he didn't want to walk too far to church from home!!
The town is built by a pretty river/canal in a deep valley. It was a real gem of a place. Had lunch with Robin and Stella on a boat restaurant. Enjoying fabulous ...

... been there from the 11th and 12th century. We then walked the wall to Monkbar (the next gate) along the top of the wall. Got some good views from the top of the wall.
