... begin to describe it so I will take the description from the book I purchased:

"From the centre of the dome hung a 30ft chandelier, a ton in weight, held in the claws of a silvered dragon suspended from the apex of the ceiling. Below, six smaller dragons exhaled light through lotus glass shades: the effect, as contemporaries observed, was 'dazzling'."

... with about six different types of birds to complete the image. It was all very interesting, but seeing as we had skipped breakfast it was soon apparent it was time for lunch! And for lunch it was off to O'Neils (that franchised pub) for another taste of that wonderful Irish stew washed down with tea.
