They hooked me up with a large carafe of coffee and two poached eggs over salmon over goat cheese on sourdough bread. Loved it. She inquired about my plans for the day. Amana Colonies is one of America's longest-lived communal societies beginning in 1714 in Germany and continues today here on the Iowa prairie. Today is another windmill day. Seem like there are more and more as we move along. Must say it does not make for a great view. We find it interesting that many are not running. The temperature is rising so we have to turn on the generator so we can run the rooftop AC. That's better. After lunch we run into increasing winds. Not quite like riding a bucking bronco, but close. ... them, and dives head first into the burrow opening, but only comes up with dirt up his nose. I thought they were chipmunks, but they are thirteen-striped ground squirrels.








So tomorrow we will say good bye to the ground squirrels and corn fields. Oh wait, isn't Nebraska the CornHusker State.... Dang, more corn!
