820-1 Seogwi-dong Seogwipo, Jeju Island, Korea Rep., 48898, 82-64-7633600
We flew into Jeju-si on Wed. evening and caught a bus to the other side of the island to the city of Seogwipo. When we got off the bus I took us in the wrong direction, so we had a nice evening walk on the way to our hostel. When we got there, they had messed up on the rooms, so there was only one room for mom and Connie. The owner took us over to a nearby hotel, Hotel Napoli, where we got to sleep on the floor. The yeo's (floor pads) were much softer than the beds in the rooms, so I slept gr...

A while back when Heather asked me what I wanted to do when I came to Korea, I mentioned that I wanted to hike the volcano that she and Kate hiked and got such great pictures from. Unfortunately, I must not have been paying attention when she told me that it was 9.6 km to the top (just short of 6 miles) and that most of the climbing involved hoping from one lava rock to another, slipping off, twisting your ankles in fantastic new directions that you never knew it could go ...
Jeju City, Jeju Island, Korea Rep. jknoff22... The rain took our minds off of the torture of climbing down a volcanic rock mountain. We finally made it to the bottom and caught a bus to Jeju city where we stayed for the night. The Mr. Pizza we had for dinner was the best I might have ever had. Early in the morning we had to get back to the airport to fly back to Seoul and then the subway back to Hanam-si, where I had to promply turn around and go to work while I'm pretty sure Justin took a nap.
... you want some other time. I left with Sally and her father escorting me out of the building. Sally walked me to a cab and joked about how dog meat is supposed to give men stamina. I smiled and gave her a hug good bye and headed home. With this supposed stamina that might keep me up all night I would have to be content with having only myself to love.

This entry is a compilation of the events of my summer holiday and the night before as seen above. I plan to ...
... but we'd managed to fit a lot in, also spending some time at the busy and exclusive Jungmun beach.
Our last evening on Jeju Island was spent at a restaurant with an excellent view out over the sea, and I think we both agreed that it was a very tranquil place to stay, and I could quite easily see myself living there if I was to return to Korea at some stage. Maybe I'm getting old, or a little homesick, but right now I crave the country life with its clean air and green grass...
... on my forearms and shins. I went to the pharmacy in the airport and the guy behind the counter knew excatly what I needed before I explained myself, aloe vera. All in all it was a fun weekend and very cheap aside from a 190,000 WON plane ticket. I can't wait to come back at the end of the month with a group of friends. Although I did not win the surf contest, or even enter it for that matter, I am very confident that I earned the title for best farmers tan.

... WAY overcrowded or--it was cloudy. It was supposedly the peak tourist season, but we only ran into one other American couple. We were told that to really see the island, we'd have to rent a car or mopeds, but we did neither. Honestly, we were feeling pretty lazy being on vacation and all--and I guess lazy isn't the way to be if you want to experience Jeju Island :) We sorta just wanted to sit on a beach all day... We did see some great waterfalls, and it ...

The caves of Kosu-dongul are definitely amazing feats of nature, and make the trip to Danyang instantly worth it. However, it's hard to stop and admire nature's wonder with a never-ending stream of tourists behind you. The mentality in there seemed to be "bbali-bbali, and keep it moving!" But don't worry, there are spots to stop and get that beautiful picture. There are people all along the way set up to take a Polaroid of ...
Jeju Island, Korea Rep. tobiah... journey this time in search of Haenyo. Not long into our journey we found what we were looking for and stopped to watch the crazy women diving into the freezing cold water returning with what ever they could catch. After waving good bye we I began to notice how many rocks there are on Cheju-do. Most houses and fields have high fences made from rocks surrounding them. These act as ...
