Good Place to Stay in Seattle

We had a suite for 3 nights. We were not on the street side which made our room very quiet. It was also very roomy!! Short walk to Pike Place Market and the monorail- which you take to the Space Needle. We flew in and wanted to rent a car to visit Mount Rainier. There is a Budget/Avis rental place next door to this hotel which was wonderful because we did not have to take a taxi back to the airport to rent a car. The first night we had a lightbulb in the bathroom blow out and the remote for the TV in the bedroom did not work. We reported both in the morning and these problems were quickly fixed. A free dinner is served Monday - Thursday including beer and wine and a hot breakfast is served every morning. Extremely helpful to our budget.

In July 2014, we flew to Seattle to do a couple days of touring before we took a long desired cruise to Alaska. Flying Southwest through Chicago was a fun adventure. While we waited for the luggage to be loaded onto the plane, the plane's captain played his banjo for the passengers. Very cool.

He lead us to the "Gum Wall" and introduced us to Rachel the Pig. Rachel is the Golden Pig that stands in front of Pike Place Fish Co. ... pretty much free to walk where I wanted. A hot dog and a plastic cup of beer big enough to swim in sufficed for dinner. Seattle lost to the Astros 2-7 and I walked back in the rain to the car park, happy that I had negotiated my first day alone in Seattle only to find the private car park where Maya's dad's car was parked was closed. A taxi home with Maya's parents driving me back downtown to the car park the next day left me slightly red faced. Ever wondered what the worlds ...

... cities under a crescent moon, I can almost tangibly feel the fulcrum
start to balance out. The terror level is back down to yellow, and I’m gaining
back a little equilibrium as Goodbye’s time wanes, and Hello is on the horizon.
This long anticipated day is finally here. As our wings tip towards New Orleans,
I’m beginning to arrive after so many months of “so long.”
