Day 14 Tue 4th Oct 2005 My solo adventure in Sharm Al Sheikh. I had my own little adventure, as I parted company with Romain today. Getting up this morning was a proper struggle, even though we had a wake up call. We caught the Fast Ferry to Sharm Al Sheikh. It was fast and very unstable, the most amount of people were sick, even Romain was felling …
... no president (he is only a puppet) and that they wish Mubarak was back in power. We’ll always remember the Red Sea as our first (hopefully of many) dive spot—a really high bar to beat. If I ever hear the following four phrases I will always think of our time here:
Welcome to Egypt!
You’re a very lucky man
Welcome to Alaska
Highly recommended travel destination. Now is a good time to come while all the flights and deals are so ...
... did a few extra activities. One afternoon they hired quad bikes and sand buggies and rode into the sand dunes. Ricky drove in the sand buggy most of the way with Tom as the navigator. Lots of fun.
The boys also went on a scuba diving trip into the Red Sea. Ricky snorkelled while the bigger boys scuba dived. Tom had his first experience scuba diving and absolutely loved it. The briefing involved a ...
... again, with the beginning of the session still being under the umbrella :) The sun sets around 6 pm, so it wasn’t a very long one anyway and I was just too lazy to go into the sea again. The views were amazing though, the best thing of having both sea and mountains next to each other is that they both change every 5 minutes, so whenever you look around there is something new and beautiful :) No wonder everyone loves it here, it’s ...
... need sunglasses and a smile - the bazaar. We walk through one narrow alleyway after another looking at everything from housewares to camel leather goods to clothing to knives.
Shaimaa invites us to tea at a cafe deep inside the bazaar. Our table is barely out of the way of the foot traffic in this narrow stretch of sidewalk between merchant tents. Many merchants approach us, ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Sonesta Club Sharm El Sheikh - Naama Bay Sharm El-Sheikh
First time in Sharm El Sheikh at the Sonesta Club Hotel arriving at 9 30pm.Put suite casers in room, went off to pool bar for food and a beer, excellent service, talking to waiter to found out how to get to Nana bay by taxi and how much it would cost 10 e pounds= £1.00,next day went to sister hotel for the beach, nice walk after breakfest, found to be to crowded for us,spoke to rep the next day and pointed out sharks bay by taxi £2.50= 25e pounds, arrive at Sharks Bay ,had to pay20e pounds=£2 each, include sun bed, lovely, not to many on beach, never snorkled before, husband taught me and could'nt keep me out of the water, fantastic, food and drink at little cafes etc.Hotel ideal for couples as we used it for B>B and could'nt fault it.Beach every day and eveing nana bay, restrants good, food good, never found a bad one.If you stop for a beer, check for service charges ,some do some do'nt and the size of beer.Nice walk home along the front ,to sister hotel and across the road Some shops in nana bay, charging the earth for inported china goods, cheaper to buy at home, you have to hagal for every thing
we booked this hotel for May this year and we had a lovely time, the hotel is very clean and our room was huge and very clean The maids come in every day and will do anything for you they are the most helpful staff i have come across. The pool area is clean if a bit small but you can use the pools at the Sonesta Beach. The meals are fine and they have a different theme night most nights which you can book if you are only bed & breakfast. If i was going back to Egypt i would go back to this hotel as i could not fault it or the staff.
Sconsiglio chiunque a recarsi in questo hotel per i seguenti motivi:
We stayed (myself, husband and 14 year-old son) at the Sonesta Club in August 06. We had booked the hotel as part of a tour in September last year and were dismayed to find when we got to our room at 1.30am that only 2 twin beds were in the room. The porter then had to call house-keeping to make a third bed up which consisted of a matress slung onto a concrete base - not a great start. I awoke the first morning, stepped out of bed and felt the floor was wet underneath. I looked up and found water dripping through the ceiling. The air con was leaking. We then put our valuables into the safe in the room, locked it and the whole key and lock came out all together - (I was begininng to think I was staying at Fawlty Towers). We saw our rep and he got the air con and safe fixed almost immediately. So my hat goes off to them for swift service there.
I enjoyed a 2 week holiday in Sharm-El-Sheikh in March 2005 staying at the Sonesta Club Hotel. This purpose of this holiday was to spend the time advancing my diving skills however when we got there I only dived for 4 days.
we stayed at sonesta club resort (03-july-2006 to 10 july 2006) when we arrived at the hotel we found that it was clean and attractive and staff were abit too friendly, but never the less that was just the start, after reading previous reviews abt 2 girls travelling alone we still went, but found that workers at the hotel were constantly trying to talk to us which we found abit uncomfortable, when we arrived in our room, it was spacious and tidy but the tv didnt work but workers at the hotel fixed it straight away, the room was generrally nice.
