After an extremely long and tedious train journey I made it to Stavanger at about 7am. Herdis was there to pick me up! It was good to finally see a familiar face again. Despite being really quite tired I hadn't slept much on the train because it was quite uncomfortable and I was concerned about missing my stop - I kept having dreams about the stop coming and I couldn't get all my stuff off the train quickly enough etc ...

Another couple mad train rides from Bergen to Oslo and then over to Stavanger took us to small oil town, from where we would make our way to the beautiful lyseford. The fjord is quite deep, and we came to take the hike up to the Preikestolen, high above the fjord. The hike was great, and though we were soaked by rain upon arriving in Stavanger, it wasn't too bad during the 2 hour trek up.

... or crushed by a hippo ;-) Let's start with a refresher: we are leaving on Sunday the 29th of March and will be back in Norway the 28th of June. In the three months in between we will be doing the following: ~10 days in South Africa: Cape Town, Simon's Town, Franschhoek - Table Mountain, watching penguins, drinking wine... ~29 days in Namibia: just cruising with a big Jeep and a tent on the rooftop, sandboarding, hot air ...

... very exciting, but pleasant with the warm sun and cool breeze off the North Sea. We were only ashore a short while, popping into shops and walking around with the thousands of other tourists from the other cruise ships in port. ... on the back of the label which ship carried it across the equator and when. Some of those bottles carry the name M/S Tampa - the very same Tampa of asylum-seekers-banned-entry-to-Australi a fame. The hapless asylum seekers were probably unwittingly part of the famous Linie Aquavit process. The producers of Linie Aquavit is stepping up its overseas marketing of the drink, so do not be surprised if one day soon, it will appear on the shelf of a bottleshop near you.

... llegar. El camino era precioso. Parece mentira que no me haya cansado ya de tanto lago, tanta montaña, tanta catarata por todas parte s y tanto bosque. Pero no, no me he cansado. Pero es que cuando llegas al final, es espectacular: los últimos 10 minutos son LITERALMENTE por el borde del fiordo, con el agua a 600 m más abajo. Es increíble (e increíble también que no haya ninguna, pero ninguna, barrera,  ni siquiera avisos de peligro, porque te puedes acercar hasta el mismo borde ...

... Killie boss Bobby Williamson for the duration of the trip. The match itself was pretty forgetable. Viking won, 2-0 I think, and breezed through the return at Rugby Park to reach the next round. Highlights of the trip included listening to the stories of legendary BBC commentator Alastair Alexander in a tiny pub and witnessing the silver-tongued Herald scribe Darryl Broadfoot bowl over the local ladies.

... palce but finally we did it. - 2nd show: Berlin, Germany the club was really nice but sadly i felt sick. i really have not so much to report about this show casue i really was like dead just sitting here and there weak as hell. i thrown up 2 times before the show. i was pretty sad about it casue i had no chance to hang out with the ppl i know in berlin but i was really not in the condition. the gather set was really nice. today the front skin of the drums broke...ehheeh...argh ...

... to have all the presents from family at the house on Christmas Eve (aka Juleaften), and then everyone opens all their presents that night after dinner. Back at the house, I roused myself for a shower, and decided I could likely make it through the evening. I really didn't want to miss this family dinner; it is the big highlight of the Christmas activities. Ah, how I missed Dayquil, and they don't have the selection of over-the-counter drugs ...
