New years eve saw us exploring the city, finding more Christmas decorations that I hadn't previously seen, having a look at the public library, Grand Central station, the Chrysler building, the New York Skyride (which was pure rubbish) and finally the top of the Rockefeller centre. By the time we got to the top of the Rock it was dark again. The view was absolutely incredible and definitely a highlight of my whole time in NYC. The Empire State building had ...
... simulated free fall... Great fun! Next we literally run over to Universal Studios to go on the Mummy indoor roller coaster ride. Again I had to put my bag in a locker, luckily it is not a long wait for this ride, it's only 15 mins. Another great thrill ride that catapults you at break neck speed (well up to 45mph) into the darkness, twists and turns, huge fireballs, swarms of scarab beetles and an army of warrior mummies. So a row for two, maybe more expensive seats or something. But always good with some extra space. Had extra space even on the long ...
Our locating game over, we go up on Deck 5 to discover fully the "Royal Promenade", and to shoot on sight ( with our camera of course). Steph as can be predicted is attracted by the beautiful car which has the place of honor on the Royal Promenade. This ancient model is driven by 2 cute big teddy bears.
I'm not very attracted by cars, but the sweet and cute Cupcake shop ( The cupcake cupboard) wins me over.
Close by, the "Globe & Atlas" pub seems ...
