[Interesting fact, a lot of the smaller state parks have a self registration where you put money in an envelope and reserve your own spot.] The last hiccup was water....we couldn't find anywhere to fill up, but improvised a bit with a spigot in the field in the middle of the campground to fill our RV. Driving day number 2! Today we logged 447 miles. Piece of cake. It was mostly an uneventful ride. Here are a few thoughts from today: Illinois- mostly flat rolling fields of corn.....for miles and miles.....The skyline dotted with wind turbines, manicured highways and the prettiest rest stops I've ever seen. We are in John Deere country! I thought Pennsylvania had large farms. Here your neighbors are miles apart. It puts new meaning in the ...

We departed Wichita this morning continuing north on Interstate 35 towards Kansas City and eventually arrived to Iowa for my first ever visit to the Hawkeye State as it's known. But I soon found that it is really all about the corn here: miles and miles of perfectly laid out cornfields in a beautiful deep green color - very pleasing to see driving down the road at 75 MPH.

We arrived in West Des Moines about 5pm to ...
