... We sat on the terrace for hours, watching the tourists stroll by and judging the drivers of the expensive convertibles cruising down the boulevard. Later in the afternoon we walked around South Beach and did a bit of shopping at Urban Outfitters and the infamous Victoria’s Secret. We then ran into another group of BC exchange students who were also spending their springbreak in and around Miami. They had been there for three days already and had a nice reddish glow on ...

Come and meet up with me along the way!

Anyway, we finally managed to get to our home after a train ...

Walking north along Bayfront Park we came across the Hard Rock Cafe and Bayside Marketplace which had a lot of tacky souvenir shops including one with just about any stuffed horned animal you could think of! Across the road from the Bayside Marketplace is the American ...

... and saw many couples gathered near the bottom of the stairs. I was the only woman wearing a sundress and certainly the only one in heels. I realized that I was going to make an entrance, however unplanned, because I could only go slowly down the stairs in those heels. As I carefully descended the stairs, all eyes seemed to follow me. I knew how Scarlett O'Hara felt in Gone With the Wind.

The old me would have found some excuse to run up the stairs and change my ...
