... dusk and found my hotel thanks to Daniel – my trusty on-loan Garmin GPS. I tried Karen for awhile, but her voice annoyed me too much. I think I’ll try ‘Lee’ tomorrow. Anyways, the hotel has gates to get into the parking lot…you have to call the front desk to get entrance. In my hotel room there are instructions on how to stay safe…lock room doors and windows, don’t flash around your hotel key in public, use the ...

Many members of the touring group also visited Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, where he often lived, where he died on August 16, 1977, and where he is buried. As tokens of the visit, one choir member wore an Elvis mask to sound check that afternoon, and administrative manager Barry Anderson wore a brightly colored Elvis t-shirt over his dress shirt and tie.
Members of the tour also walked along the famous Beale Street, an important area in African ...

Searcy, Arkansas, United States mgibb05Hi Again! Arrived in Memphis last night from Nashville, we found a campsite right next to Graceland where Elvis Presley used to live. Nowadays his house is open to tourists and there are exhibitions about him and his music. We had a tour, which included going round his house and garden and included the exhibitions. After finishing the tour of ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States josman... looks much as he did when we were companions. He always looked much younger than his actual age. We visited for three hours in the conference room - much longer than I'd anticipated. I wasn't sure if he'd be happy or unhappy to see me drop in on him, so I'd expected a much shorter visit. I felt rather awkward at taking so much of his time out of his busy life, but he didn't seem to mind and it was a wonderful ...
Hardy, Arkansas, United States montgomerylaneSurvived more thunderstorms and torrential rain to get here. Hot Springs is a bit like Bath in England, with Victorian bath houses and places for taking the waters. It is surrounded by woodland and is all very green (hardly surprising with all the rain they get). We are staying with Jeff and Na Young (who is from Korea) and baby Sydnee. Lovely location high up in the woodland. (Pictures when I get time)
Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States salandrich... days, so I'm just hanging around, doing those mundane laundry-type tasks, paying bills, etc. We'll be in North Carolina for about a week and a half, and then when we get back, just a couple of weeks and we're off to Europe for a month. So - consider this a practice run. I'll post more when we actually start travelling. Toodles!
Memphis, Tennessee, United States skrop1... and doing military-type chants but usually with a Christian twist. One of them that will probably be forever engrained in all of our memories was: "Everywhere we go, people want to know, who we are, so we tell them, We are South Point, mighty mighty, South Point." Repeat indefinitely until snack time ;)
