Climbing in Siurana Part 2

So we left Sasha behind in Siurana and I got dropped off on the outskirts of Barcelona as they passed by heading north through France to Switzerland. This would be the third time (fourth including a quick stop in the airport) I would go to Barcelona. But I had a few more things to see, a hotel reservation (so tired of hostals) and a couple days to relax before flying across the Atlantic to New Jersey...

Climbing in Siurana Part 1
Flew from Madrid back to Barcelona and was met at the Airport by Matthieu and friends Julien, Maria, Sam, and Werner. We drove from Barcelona south and then west to the small village of Siurana, home to one campground and miles and miles of remote limestone rock faces.
Siurana is world famous sport climbing, and the style is slightly overhanging faces with pockets and small edges for your hands ...
An early night? Don't even think about it.
... main crowd and worked our way around to Placa del Rei,which was the rest point for the animals (and their human companions) and where a concert was underway.

A long arm and a long day of Santa Tecla
... bottles and other strong drinks. We walked for quite a while, reminding ourselves what a handsome city Tarragona is, before meeting up with the others and making our way to the Casa de la Festa.
This was our first look inside the building proper, having attended a Santa Tecla event there in 2010 but not being able to have a look beyond the first room then. This is something that should be on the itinerary of all visitors and it is worth finding out the opening times. The ...

... for the early part of the day and we weren't expecting James or Tony & Kay to be up and about soon, so we went for a walk to perhaps see some areas we hadn't been to before. We wound our way fairly randomly through Tarragona's streets, slowly heading up hill until we finally intersected Rambla Nova, quite a long way down (or up) near the castellers statue where we spent an amusing few minutes trying to get a photo of the work without people in it.
