After spending a week relaxing in Jeri we had to cover some distance in order to get to Rio in time for Carnival. We took a night bus from Jeri to Fortaleza were we had a day to walk around the city while waiting for our next night bus to Natal. Fortaleza is a beach city and when you look down the coast you could quite easily imagine you were in Miami. We visited the Central Market, finally got to post stuff from Venezuela to New Zealand ...
After breakfast we hared a taxi and visited the 3 Kings Fort, the amazing new bridge, and the aquarium and ended up old part of Natal... a nice trip out to the Forteleza de 3 Magos at the mouth of the Rio Potengi. ... bar on which we rely for our needs of caipirinha, and even some beaches just out of town to surf, watch dolphins close to the shore, lie down in peace and get a nice sunburn, or simply take a stroll and looking at the tide: the difference between high and low tide is amazing, hundreds of meters of beach disappear within a few hours and if you are not careful you may get trapped under cliffs of this stretch of coast.
