... on the top level of the terrace overlooking the old city. In the pastel pinkish sunset, the view was spectacular. There were no other guests and it was lovely just to chill out on our own and watch the sun slowly set over ancient Fes.

Our riad meal and the beer and wine was good. We spent the rest of the evening discussing with Said and Houssein about life in Morocco. They were good company and it was a very enjoyable last evening in old Fes.

We had a guided tour around Fes. It is a huge medina with over 9000 lanes. The guide was great and showed us all the things on our wish list including the Palace Gates, Medersa Bou Inania, Medersa el-Attarine, the Chauowara tannery and a mosaic artisan workshop. While Mark and I picked at the array of food in front of us not wanting to be impolite, they just sat there and smiled! We felt a bit like goldfish!
