Woke up to sunshine and an urge to do some exercise. As

our bikes to visit the Georges du Trient. This is a beautiful gorge that is

One wrong step,or slip could send you over the ...

Drove to Argentieres which is further down the valley from Chamonix, and caught the cable car lift up the mountain (1900 m) – our starting place for our hike called 'Point De Vue’ – up to the edge of the Argentiers glacier. Descriptions of the walk compared it to the Mer de Glace glacier we went to on Monday ...

... our accommodation from a local bakery) before heading into town – sunshine (despite the cool temperature) showing everything off to its best effect.

Mer de Glace trip and visit to the ice-cave was also spectacular – even with the 470 steps to get back up to the ski lift! Got very breathless on the way, but was able to cover nicely by frequent stops to ‘admire the view’ (many other people doing this too)!
