      Pretty good huh - I'm usually still in bed at that time! 9:45 - raining but not the freezing rain they warned us about - fingers crossed that it stays this way. 11:00. - rest stop. Bit of freezing rain but highway is fine. Have passed a lot of salt trucks... boy do they lace that stuff out. Had to watch our step - icy spots on the walkways and the curbs. Noon - weather clearing - 39F. No freezing rain at that temperature. Going through Columbus, ...

      Tonight, we're watching part 2 of The Hobbit, homework, as Tim put it, for the drive-in in Ft. Worth, where we will see part 3 of The Hobbit. We watched part 1 last night.

      Tomorrow is the big driving day--we're headed to Hope, AR, where we will stay overnight and visit the Clinton national park site on Tuesday morning. More anon!
