... having a beer and watching a man try to dig his van out of the snow. To my knowledge his van is to this moment where it was when I left the bar.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to post some pictures of Canillo when it's snowy and the sun comes out. Don't have too many, but figured it was worth a post.

Canillo, Andorra sirsmonkey42... at 7:30am. However upon arriving at l'Hospitalet all my fears were put to rest.

It's misleading that they call l'Hospitalet a train station, it would be more correct if they called it a gravel lot with vending machines. As I filed into the line to get off the train, eager to find the bus, I grew frustrated that the line wasn't moving faster. When my turn finally came to get off the train I noticed that the line continued straight from the train to ...

Tarascon-sur-Ariège, Midi-Pyrénées, France marianm... and hand hold. Until you get to the point where you can’t seem to make a move at all. Limbs getting sore and there’s no place to set your foot, and no where to grab hold with your hand. Every muscle in your body tense trying to keep you in the place where you re. Mind solely focused on the task at hand. Moving slightly, feeling around, using divets in the rock that are barely visible to support your weight. Ever upward straining ...
Tarascon-sur-Ariège, Midi-Pyrénées, France 2totango... br>
Despite the dogs and the cold and wind, we did manage a little hike up past a waterfall up to a beautiful plateau area with mountains all around. Huddled behind a rock to provide some resistance from the wind, we scarfed down a bit of picnic lunch before running back to the truck for warmth. Then it was down into the town of Ax to soak our cold feet into some hot springs.
Marc, Midi-Pyrénées, France 2totango... returned to year after year to seek shelter from the harsh weather outside. When inside the cave, they would dwell fairly close to the entrance to take advantage of the natural light, but these paintings are deep in the cavern - some almost 3 km in!

So why did these people venture all that way with only little lamps and torches to paint pictures? Who knows! Walls lined with images of bison, ibex and horses (which are found in caves all ...
Niaux, Midi-Pyrénées, France 2totango... was time to plunge down. Catching a glimpse of the farm with my telephoto lens Brian had some bearings to go by. Into deciduous forest that was misty and light, then further down the valley into darker trees. Ground thick with fallen leaves and branches made traversing difficult. With the steep slope and last night’s rain, it was a little like skree hopping…

Once in the woods it was impossible to see what ...
Forat dels Clots de Massat, Andorra 2totango... cheap. What you save in duty you’d make up in European rent, easy. The US is cheap, pure if not simple. Still Andorra is okay, easily dissed without cause. The only thing I can’t handle is the smoke, the man-made kind. The new regs haven’t reached here yet, so Andorra may soon become the place where smokers flock to light up in public, the anti-Amsterdam. That’s a claim to fame they can probably do without.
Andorra la Vella, Andorra hardiek... their bodies fluidly to the music. They make fun of the English girls, who they say bob around in the nightclubs unattractively. They show they´re my friends by doing two main things when around me: 1. Taking care of me, and 2. Laughing at me. They laugh at my old, beaten, yellow-and-green coat; at hole-consumed socks; at sandals worn in the winter-time (better than snow-soaked sneakers, though); and at my pre-payday financial possessions which at any give time might number ...
Pas de la Casa, Andorra modernoddyseus... up, gotten cold feet, and decided she didn´t want to ski down. As she passed, Dave heckled, "Boo!" at her. "Boooo!" Dave and I have hung out a lot lately, because neither of us work. I´m still waiting for my annoying paper-work to get sorted out. Luckily, "Mr. Manzano´s" alliance of hotels and restaurants has been taking good care of us. A ski-supply rental shop lets us take out snowboarding equipment every day. (The Argentinians and Chileans who operate ...
