... Scandinavian feel with more in the way of trees and woodland. Quick 'comfort break' just outside of Epernay (see photo and comments) and time to take the roof down. Weather hotting up nicely eventually hitting a rather warm 33.5 degrees by early afternoon (so glad I decided last minute not to wear long trousers!!). Back on the road after Epernay stop, Mr Ribbons took a brief snooze and I drove for the ...

    Guignicourt to Xonrupt-Longemer 215 miles

I'll go a long way for a decent scrabble letter. Kate suggested Sainte Marie aux Mines but if you are going to have an x, have it at the beginning. Which is how we find ourselves staring out over a lake in the Alsace region just outside Xonrupt-Longemer.

... head into the village and the bar. We did note that on the main road which we cycled on this morning that a Hotel & Bar does look good for business. Let's hope in time this place picks up and lives again. A few new residents have done places up. You can pick up a barn for £40,000! Clive actually said he wouldn't mind living here, me too. But the bar would clearly have to stay Open! We really like this place a lot and it is definitely the quietest and nicest Aire this ...

We went there cause we wanted to go to the some camping called Les Hirondelles (18€) which we discovered last year. It is nice, quiet and out of our book of small campings. A big advantage is that the lady of the camping cooks a wonderful trout which comes out of their private lake, so again we really enjoyed our evening dinner on their terrace. They still remembered us and we chatted a little with our neighbors as well. We were quite tired so went for a ...
