    Exploring Rhine River!

A travel blog entry by jackxy08 on Nov 23, 2014

An hour drive from Trier, we finally reached Koblenz. Got to see a piece of Berlin wall, had a typical German meal Schweinshaxe (Pork Knuckle with mashed potato and Sauerkraut) pair with a local beer! Yum! After our meal, we headed to the cruise port for an hour ride to explore the Rhine River.

... through this beautiful village I noticed
what looked like two great hotels and remember even seeing them on my satnav. If
only i had picked one of these as they looked magnificent.
Back to my hotel and time to relax after that long trip.
Tomorrow I still have about 250 miles to do to get to the ferry at
Amsterdam. I just prey the roads are not too busy and that the weather stays
good but only time will tell.
    Cheers from Limburg, Germany ...

This should be the end of the blog, but the stopover/plane change in Malaysia has turned into 11 days, so there'll be more! Sty ...

... nothing more relaxing than watching the river flow by.

The day was spent at the Nurburgring – Fun park for rev-heads. Stan and Dave enjoyed it.

Once we got home we needed some wine to enjoy our balcony. So began our wonderful relationship with Stefan and his Wine Paradise.

... to get to Germany! After a few hours of driving, we reached the Rhine valley and drove down the mountains with the beautiful view of vineyards covering the entire landscape. We had dinner of roast beef and weird noodle things at a German restaurant, then walked down the street to an underground cellar, where we got to taste the Rhine valley's famous wines. The "ice wine", a famous, prestigious dessert wine was super sweet. They're only able to create the wine in winters where ...
