A lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and it has a pool, which of course is important to our kids. It is close to Hearst Castle and to the Elephant Seal Rookery. Continental breakfast is included. We did book through Expedia so managed to save quite a lot of money. Highly recommend.

Hearst Castle was magnificent at night and the models in period costumes wandering around the grounds or sitting in various rooms added to the experience enormously. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the museum that is the Castle is amazing, ...

After the guided tour we were free to roam around the grounds to view the gardens, the swimming pools, tennis courts and guest houses, before returning to the visitor's center by bus. The only way to the castle from the visitor’s center is by bus, and the ride takes about 20 to reach the top of the mountain and the castle. After returning to the visitor’s center we watched a 45 ...
