At last we think we have figured out this trip. We will leave Buffalo and head to Barcelona for a few days. Then we will get ourselves to London for our flight to Mumbai. After a short while in Mumbai we are heading south to Panaji, Old Goa and the coast where we will spend considerable time. About a month or so later it's back to London ...
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada smyth... to cross. No wonder so many people have died trying to climb under the bridge. And I always thought it was to enter illegally but obviuosly they ahve also had enough of the tolls too.
Anyway we got through and then headed for Buffalo which took approx 40 mins to drive to and then another 30 to park the car in someones yard for $15.
Everyone was pretty tanked and it was pretty much a full on day with the ...
... We both got a coffee but I will admit mine was twice the size of Linda's and I also got a choc glazed donut too while Linda went the non-fat blueberry muffin with hers.
We were only on the road for another hour or two and we were both cactus again. We had to pull over in a truck stop and passed out for over 2 hours. It was the best sleep yet of the whole trip So tired we heard nothing and felt quite good.
Hit the road again ...
The falls were falling all right - especially when illuminated with changing lights at night. Las-Vegas-By-The-Falls (a.k.a Niagara Falls town) was a bit of a surprise - definitely an American import, but Canadian version was somewhat less boring and tasteless than original US one
I left the apartment early in the morning, but once again didn't anticipate the masses congregating around Penn Station. This station is by far the largest of all the Amtrak places I had been so it was somewhat hard to navigate around. There was a big line to pickup tickets, but I managed to get my ticket as they were calling us to board. The train was packed and I was sitting on the aisle for about an hour before the guy next to me got off. Once ...
Niagara Falls, New York, United States rama0999... the border into Ontario, and that was an absolute nightmare! The government lady who interviewed me had the cops search my car. She told them I sounded lost and had no idea where I was going. I thought about it, and figured maybe the extreme amounts of caffeine and lack of sleep made me extra figitty and appear nervous? Or they just target Americans...one or the other. Anyway, they went through everything. They accused my car of being owned by my parents, not me. They kept asking ...
Niagara Falls, New York, United States amandafdt... to getting our food, it was worth the wait. They Make all their food to order including their famous wings and not only are they good eats they are cheap eats! We choose a variety for 4 different kinds and were pleased with all of them. Raspberry BBQ was everyone's favorite and the original a close second. We decided to pass on the "Suicide" as these wings were already known to be hotter than most. One of the things we were ...
Niagara Falls, New York, United States eightydaze... and lakeshores have the greatest archaeological potential. Palaeo-Indian sites in Niagara would most likely be associated with the series of relic beach ridges that once formed the shore of early Lake Erie. In May 1535, Jacques Cartier left France to explore the New World. Although he never saw Niagara Falls, the Indians he met along the St.Lawrence River told him about it. Samuel de Champlain visited Canada in 1608. He, too, heard stories of the mighty ...
Niagara Falls, New York, United States azgar4u... with the woman who cleans my office and I wish my friend Maggie would call me! But I'm good where I am right now. Am I looking forward to things? I don't think that I can really explain it like that. I was looking forward to Calgary, but it actually seems that it's since I got back that I'm all good. I don't really know where's it's coming from. Making the best of a situation I know I'm in? Whatever - bust my bubble and you will feel my wrath!
Toronto, Ontario, Canada jose... to scratch our rental car in the forest of crazy cabs.. Then we did some exploring of more remote areas of Brooklyn and, untilmately, we reached JFK. That was the end of my first visit to US, which was an amazing experience for me and probably the best vacation ever so far.. At this time I did not yet have a digital camera, so my pictures were actually taken with a traditional SLR camera. Hopefully one day I get more of them scanned, and I could place them here;-)
