Drove to Story City, Iowa today. The weather was not good today, in fact we drove through pour down rain for about 1 1/2 hrs as we passed through Kansas City and northward. The campground was wet from all the rain and not as pretty as it was the last time we stayed here 4 years ago. Smokey hasn't been sleeping well and has been crying during the night. I guess it is too much going on for him. Needless to say, we haven't been sleeping too ...
In Des Moines we visited the Saturday morning farmers markets. This market showcases and sells locally grown and handmade produce. They also had some impressive live music performances.

The reason this is an issue is that most of our equipment has to be fork-lifted onto the stage. luckily, there was enough room for us to put in a ramp for quickly removing equipment small enough to go down a ramp.

It was featured on the TV show Man vs Food for its humongous burger...we went for the ribs and wings and were still eating the leftovers the next day. ...

We had a great time along with everyone else.
On the way home we spied a pool hall within walking distance of our hotel, so we parked the car and walked the half mile to the pool hall. Somehow we got talking to the owners who fed us free drinks and shots until we could take no more punishment and had to perform a white ninja.
