... coffee shop and got out my map. I now had to make a decision as to what route I was going to take. The main route via Tirano is faster but is on main roads and is rather boring. The other route is all the way back up Stelvio and down the magical East pass which I took photos of earlier this morning.
By the time I finished my coffee I had made up my mind that it was the route back over Stelvio. Its much harder work than the main roads but also 100% more enjoyable.

Today we went up to San Martino in the morning to Nonna Mela's house for a visit, and to take her out for lunch. She knitted Paul and I a cardigan each, and bought the boys all a T-shirt which was really nice. Nicolas wanted to learn how to knit so she is teaching him, it is very cute to watch. Stopped at Camping Corones. Luxurious site, with heated
sanitary facilities and a heated outdoor pool, but somehow we did not like it.
