Twice over Stelvio in one day

... coffee shop and got out my map. I now had to make a decision as to what route I was going to take. The main route via Tirano is faster but is on main roads and is rather boring. The other route is all the way back up Stelvio and down the magical East pass which I took photos of earlier this morning.

By the time I finished my coffee I had made up my mind that it was the route back over Stelvio. Its much harder work than the main roads but also 100% more enjoyable.

... town. English was the primary language there with all those tourists! On the last night we had a lovely meal at a nice restaurant in Lezzeno (a tiny town with only 2 restaurants as best we could tell). The food was simple but good and the service was delightful. We drove to the Milan airport the next day, turned in the car and checked into an airport hotel. We had dinner in a restaurant at a restaurant just behind ...

... br> parallel to the main motorway (which appeared to be elevated on concrete piers
most of its route). The motorway was busy and even the local road was busy, Not
pleasant driving. This is a main north-south arterial route.

Stopped at Camping Corones. Luxurious site, with heated
sanitary facilities and a heated outdoor pool, but somehow we did not like it.
Full of Germans and very “ordered” parking.

... to Predazzo, then Ziano, Tesero and the wooden bridge at
Cavalese. Unfortunately the gondolas at Cavalese are closed on Monday and
Tuesday. Rained a bit on the way back. Stopped for strudel/gelato/cappuccino in
Predazza and some grocery shopping. Rained even ********* the last leg back to
the campsite.

We’ve been on the road in Europe one month today.
