Even though we love Ubud, the burning of the rice fields made it impossible for us to stay, but on the flip side of a sad note, we discovered Sanur, which turns out to be quite nice "suburb". Its more hotel and pedestrian to what we usually go for, but saying that it was a nice change for a few days where we just enjoyed the hotel and facilities it …

Weer: begon prima. Beste kerel! It's apparent that there's no building code here, not just because it's built against a precipice, but because it appears to be built with kids with buckets and sticks. It's very close in form to the nest formations of swallows, and constructed with essentially the same techniques.

... I got back to my hostel and everywhere that I'd missed with my suncream was lobster red! It didn't look that bad at the beach but this was a serious red colour. You could actually see my handprints where I'd not bothered covering properly... Its calmed down a bit now but I think I'll be upping my sun factor in future. I had a super tasty fried noodle meal for lunch at a local "warung" which seems to be a little shop that happens to whip up ...
