... in a suburb just north of Jackson, enjoying some of Dan's frequent flyer points! The hotel is very nice, and seems to be very recently built. We walked to a nearby shopping area and ate at a restaurant called "Newk's." We shared a half salad and a 10" thin crust pizza. It was very good. No Disney this year makes Daddy a happy camper. I wonder what I will pull off next year to nix Disney ...

... Olympics since the 1930s. While inside, the heavens opened up, I could hear it inside the building just like I can in the school library. It was just about over by the time we left. The next stop was the Eudora Welty House. Eudora was a prolific writer whose work, The Optimist's Daughter, earned her the Pulitzer Prize. We took the tour, first watching an overview movie (4th one today, mind you), and then entering ...

... enjoyed the tour and how it was laid out. We then drove to our motel in Jackson, MS, unpacked and headed out to dinner. We went to the Twin Peaks restaurant. Turns out it was very much like Hooters, where the girls dress like lumberjacks in shorts and very low-cut plaid tops. (http://www.twinpeaksrestaurant.com). The menu was very limited, but ok. Afterwards we drove to the nearest Dairy Queen for ...
